State Level North East Games to conclude today
Imphal East top medal tally on Day 2

The
State Level North East
Games, organised by the
Department of Youth Affairs
and Sports (DYAS) under
Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan
(RGKA), will conclude
tomorrow at Khuman
Lampak Sports Complex.
On day 2, Imphal East
continue to lead the medal
tally.
Athletics :
Honeikim -
Churachandpur clinched a
gold medal in the girl's shot
put event while K Romila -
IW and N Sandhyarani - IE
claimed a silver and bronze
medal respectively.
In the girl's high jump, S
Inakhunbi (1.42 m) - IE and
N Ichantombi (1.35 m) - IE
bagged a gold and a silver
medal respectively.
In the girl's 100 meter
race, S Rebita - IE finished
on 0:13.25 sec to stood first
position while L Yaisana -
IE and L Chaoba - IE took
0:13.51 sec and 0:14.25 sec
respectively to bag the sec-
ond and third positions
respectively.
M Alken (0:11.03 sec),
K Romeshchandra (0:11.08
sec) and W Yaiphaba
(0:11.20 sec) of Imphal
East won the first, second
and third positions respec-
tively in the boy's 100 m
race.
In the boy's shot put
event, N Norendro -
Thoubal won gold while S
Maipaksana - IE and T
Nanao - Bishnupur bagged
silver and bronze medal re-
spectively.
In the boy's high jump,
Rajkumar (Bishnupur)
stood at first position while
S Jim and Th Roshan of IE
were settled for silver and
bronze medal respectively.
In the girl's 400 m race,
W Rabiya - Thoubal -
1:08.16 sec, K Jibanlata -
IE - 1:08.70 sec and D
Samina - Thoubal - 1:09.16
sec respectively won gold,
silver and bronze medal.
N Konungjao, Kh Subit
and L Achouba of IE stood
first, second and third posi-
tions in the boy's 400 m
race.
In the women's 1500 m
race, N Chaoba and M
Minarashi of IE clinched
gold and silver while S
Minchu of Thoubal bagged
a bronze medal.
Football :
Bishnupur
will clash with IE in the
men's and women's football
final.
In the men's first semi
final match, Bishnupur
edged past Thoubal by a
margin of 3 goals to two.
Surchand (34th, 74th) and Bijoy (17th) scored for
the winning side while
Thoubal witnessed their
goals through a brace from
M Bidyasagar 12th and
48th minute.
In another match, Imphal
East blanked
Churachandpur by a margin
of 3 goals to nil.
Rabindra's double in the
2nd and 15th minute and a
strike from Jetlee in the
44th minute gave the three
winning goals to Imphal
East.
In the women's first semi
final match, Imphal East
outclassed Tamenlong by a
margin of 11 goals to nil.
In another match,
Bishnupur clinched a nar-
row 7-6 win against Imphal
West by penalty shootout.
Hockey :
IW will play
with Thoubal in the wom-
en's final tomorrow at 7 am
while IW and Chandel will
play in the men's final at
8.30 am.
In the women's league
match today, IW were
awarded a walkover win af-
ter IE did not turn up for
the match.
In another match, IE and
Thoubal played a 1-1 draw.
In the men's group,
Chandel claimed a comfort-
able 5-3 win against IE.
In another match, IW
crushed Thoubal 4-0 and
Thoubal edged past IE by a
margin of 2 goals to one in
a different match.
In the last league match,
IW registered a convincing
10-2 win against Chandel.
Badminton :
Bishnupur
and Thoubal respectively
clinched the men's and
women's badminton trophy.
In the men's final,
Bishnupur claimed a 2-1
win over Imphal East while
in the women's final match
Thoubal blanked Imphal
West 2-0.
Table Tennis :
Imphal East emerged champions of
both men's and women's ta-
ble tennis event.
In the men's final match,
IW downed Thoubal 3-1
while in the women's final
IW edged out Thoubal 3-2.
Judo :
S Maimu -
Churachandpur won a gold
medal in the men's 42 kg
judo event while M
Ranjendro - Chandel went
for a bronze medal.
The third place went to
M Jemson - Imphal West
and N Rohit - Imphal East.
In the 46 kg men's cat-
egory, A Malemnganba -
Chandel won gold, L Max -
Imphal East
claimed a
silver and H Keshorjit
Bishnupur and M Anand -
Imphal West went for third
place titles.
