12th Shaheed Manoranjan Memorial football : CFA outwit NEROCA, KSC tame NACO to reach semi-final

SAI Sports Complex saw a dramatic showdown today between CFA and NEROCA FC went neck-to-neck for a berth in the semi final of the ongoing 12th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial CRPF, Football Tournament 2021-22 .
NEROCA FC took the lead of the game with a goal from Chunsaba Barian in the 20th minute of the game.
Fighting back to level the game, CFA's attempts were neutralized by NEROCA FC's defense ending the first half in favour of NEROCA FC.
Serto Wosneilen's equalizer in the 52nd minute of the game brought back CFA in the game as both the teams went all out to regain control of the game for a berth in the semi-final.

The equally efficient attacks and defense ended in a 1-1 draw till the end of full time.
Preparing for the penalty shoot-out, CFA fielded Serto Wosnelen, Tongminsei, Dettol, Gogocha and Joel while NEROCA FC lined-up Thomas, Lucky, Jornatham Chunsaba and Benjamin.
Both the GoalKeepers conceded 4 goals each and denied one each, giving a 4-4 tie.
A sudden death was called for and both the teams scored their first kicks.
NEROCA FC missed the second kick which gave CFA the needed advantage.
CFA's Robert seized the opportunity and outwitted the NEROCA Goalkeeper to give CFA a final 7-6 win over NEROCA FC.
In another quarter final match played between KSC and NACO, the former team registered a 2-1 win over the latter and booked a slot in the semifinal.
Lenminlun Doungel opened the goal account for KSC in the 65th minute of the game but was equalized by Y Sibachandra in the 74th minute of the game.
KSC' Ginkholen broke the tie in the 80th minute of the game and the match ended in a 2-1 win for KSC.
SU will play UKB while ESU will face YUFC in tomorrow's (Jan 21) quarterfinal matches.
