MBSU, YWC line up for CC Meet semifinals

Imphal, December 19 2008: MBSU, Wahengbam Leikai and YWC, Thambalkhong completed the semi final line-up of the 52nd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI CBE Memorial Football Tournament with victories over their respective opponents at Mapal kangjeibung today.

In the semi final matches to be played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, MBSU will take on Assam Rifles, Tejpur on December 21 at 1.30 pm with the Thambalkhong side slated to test NEROCA on December 22 also at 1.30 pm.

In the last Group Q quarter final match played today, MBSU rallied to defeat runners-up of the 51st edition AMOFA, Moirang 3-2 with L Boipu doungel scoring two of the MBSU goals in the 45th and 89th minutes.

N Dhananjoy scored the second goal in the 81st.For AMO-FA, Rocky Kom provided the breakthrough 35 minutes into the game while K Priyokumar netted the second in the 64th.YWC advanced from Group R after a convincing 2-0 win over AIM, Khabam Lamkhai.

L Jackychand scored the opener only seven minutes into game while Momoi Vaiphei sealed the last four berth with a 71st minute strike.
