Imphal Riding Club emerge champions of 2nd State Women's Polo Tournament

Imphal, March 19 2023: Imphal Riding Club were crowned the champions of the 2nd State Level Women's Polo Tournament 2023 organised by Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association (MHRPA) at Mapal Kangjeibung.

M Priya scored six goals to fire Imphal Riding Club 9-3 past Chingkheihunba Polo Club who fought back and found all three goals in the fourth chukker.

Priya opened the scoring in the last minute of the first chukker before scoring four goals in the chukker chukker.

Kh Deventy and M Bijenty also scored a goal apiece in the second chukker to ensure Imphal Riding Club take a comfortable 7-0 lead till halfway break as Chingkheihunba Polo Club remained clueless.

M Bijenty scored her second in the second minute and Priya struck her 6th goal in the 6th minute of the third chukker to further extend the lead to 9-0 before Neelu RK, Asakiran and I Sangeeta scored a goal each in the final chukker for the losing team.

The valedictory function of the tournament was graced by Ram Muivah, IAS Retd and MLA Ukhrul AC; H Deleep Singh, IAS Retd and MHRPA president; Dr Ng Ibotombi, Director, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry Services Manipur; Prof Ch Priyoranjan, president Manipur Pony Society and RK Dilip Singh, vice president, Manipur Pony Society and N Radhapyari, retd Associate Professor as chief guest, president and guests of honours respectively.
