Imphal, March 18: CRESA Club, Bishnupur outlasted YWO, also of Bishnupur, 3-1 to claim the championship title of the CRPF Friendship Cup at the DSA Mini Stadium, Bishnupur district headquarters yesterday.

The competition organised by the 48 Bn CRPF was participated by 15 teams out of 16 invited, a CRPF release said while informing that the final match was held with Deputy Commissioner (Bishnupur) Aleng AS Shimray and CO of the host unit RS Rautela as the chief guest and president respectively.

officials of the Bn including CMO Dr (Mrs) NT Mili, and Asst COs PK Das, Amit Prakash and Binay Kumar were also present for the final match in addition to more than 400 spectators.

While CRESA bagged the top prize of Rs 10,000 and YWO settled for the Rs 5000 award, Rs 1000 each was also given to winners of best player honour (Ch Risk Singh; best goalkeeper (Poirei Angandga); and highest goal scorer (I Sen).

Out of the tournament's total prize amount of Rs 25,000 all the participating teams were also handed Rs 500 each.

An un-armed combat demonstration under Karate Instructor Sub Inspector Maruti DB, a Black belt degree holder, was also performed as a part of the closing ceremony.
