Imphal, November 17 2025: Manipur culminated their U23 Men's State A Trophy Plate Group campaign on a winning note as they beat Nagaland in the final league round match by 4 wickets for the third win at Ropar Cricket Ground, Ropar today.

Toss winners Nagaland, who elected to bat first, were bundled out for a lowly total of 142 runs in 45.1 overs as Sanayai ran through their batting line up before Manipur cruised to the target in 41.4 overs with 4 wickets left to spare.

Mughavi Sumi hit a half century (54 off 63) for Nagaland in the first innings as Keneizetuo Rio (26 off 97) emerged second highest run getter.

Sanayai produced a prolific bowling performance to enjoy a four wicket haul (4.14 in 7.1 overs) to keep the Nagaland batters in check after Md Aqeel Ahamed (2/20) and K Kalyan (2/35) applied early pressure.

Sanjit and Naorem Dibak also chipped in with a wicket apiece in this innings.

In reply, Rohit 33 off 80, Somokanta 21 off 42, Heisnam Manikanta 21 off 22, and K Ringku 16 off 24 set the tone for the victory before Kalyan 21 not out off 32 and Md Aqeel Ahamed 5 not out off 11 finished off the chase in 41.4 overs.

With the win, Manipur finished third in the league table as Meghalaya and Mizoram made the top-two finish to set up the final clash on November 19.Manipur had won by 7 wickets against Arunachal Pradesh in the opening tie before registering a 93-run victory against Sikkim in the fourth tie.
