Imphal, June 17 2024: Tekcham Radhakanta of Thoubal will square off against Pravin Naorem of Imphal West in the junior boys 66 kg final in the ongoing State Level Boxing Championships being underway at Khuman Lampak Boxing Arena.

T Radhakanta sealed an RSC victory over Imphal East's L Korounganba in the first semi-final bout before Pravin thumped Naorem Agu of Kakching 5-0 in the other semi-final match.

The junior boys 60 kg title clash will see Kh Punsiba of Imphal West, who edged out IE's L Mangansana 3-2 in the first semi-final, take on Ngathingshang Valui of Ukhrul, who outlasted B Edwin of SPL-B 4-1 in the second semi-final match.

In the 57 kg category semi-final matches, Johnson Khoirom of IW defeated Chonreihory Shimray 5-0 to set up a final date with Laishangbam Shenebas Singh of Bishnupur who defeated M Vickyson of Kakching 5-0 in another semi-final match.

Meanwhile in the 52 kg semi-final bouts, L Lanthoiba of Kakching beat Martin Khundrakpam of Imphal East and Thoumujam Paikhomba of Bishnupur defeated Kh Nongsaba of IW as IE's N Akaba defeated N Pradesh of Thoubal and Bishnupur's Th Rishi defeated Wangthoi Chirom of IW in the 50 kg category semi-final bouts.

Amaraj Wahengbam of Bishnupur (Junior boys' 48 kg), Salam Diamond of Imphal West (Junior boys' 54 kg) and Samom Punshiba of Kakching (Junior boys' 63 kg) also secured semi-final victories in their respective weight category competitions.

L Bidya to face N Anjani in Junior Girls' 50 kg final

Loitongbam Bidya of BPR will take on Ningthoujam Anjali of Kakching in the junior girls' 50 kg title clash tomorrow.

Bidya made her way into the final with a 5-0 thumping win over Gunshalu Khumba of SPL-B in the first semi-final match before N Anjali sealed an RSC win in the third round against Sh Rejiya of IW in the other semi-final bout.

The junior girls 46 kg category final, meanwhile, will see Moirangthem Max of Thoubal, who defeated L Taniya of IE 5-0 in the first semi-final, take on Kiran Chingakham of IW, who outlasted A Thoibisana of Kakching 5-0 in the other semi-final match.

Meanwhile in the 48 kg semi-final bouts, Ngalangam Pheirei of Ukhrul overwhelmed T Braini of Thoubal before Khaidem Manganthoi of Kakching defeated M Olbika of BPR 5-0 .

The day also saw Aheibam Soniya of IW defeating L Luxmi of BPR in a 52 kg semi-final bout before Loitongbam Alia of BPR edged out A Malemnganbi of Kakching 3-2 in a 54 kg semi-final clash.
