ITF Nationals and Age Group Triathlon C'ship : Th Gautam races to Junior Boys' gold as L Rebishan, N Nelshi settle for bronze medals

Imphal, August 16 2026: Manipur's Thokchom Gautam clinched a gold medal as Leishangthem Rebishan and Nongmaithem Nelshi settled for bronze medals in the ITF Nationals and Age Group Triathlon Championship-2026 that concluded today at Shree Shiv Chhatrapati Sports Complex, Pune, Maharashtra.

In the 3 day event, Thokchom Gautam and Leishangthem Rebishan made 1-3 finishes in the junior boys' competition to secure 2 medals for Manipur.

Gautam topped with the best time of 28:10.65 (28 minutes and 10.65 seconds) as Rebishan settled for the bronze medal in 29:45.30 .

Tamil Nadu's R Shaai Pugalesh meanwhile sealed the silver medal in this competition with a time of 29:42.35 .

Nongmaithem Nelshi, meanwhile, won the junior girls' bronze medal with a time of 32:13.77 (32 minutes and 13.77 seconds) as Kanakshree Dharwal of Madhya Pradesh and Sejal Vikas Patil of Maharashtra made 1-2 finishes.

Nelshi also secured a gold medal in the U-23 Women's competition.

Kanakshree Dharwal clocked 32.02.66 to finish on top as Sejal Vikas Patil recorded 32:10.80 to finish second.

In the kid girls' competition, Akoijam Langlen (21:13.01) and Leishanthem Saiyonbi Chanu (21:14.21) made 1-2 finishes as Md Danish (19:31.95) and Guruaribam Kenyson (19:31.35) made 2-3 finishes in the kid boys' segment.

Nongmaithem Dhananjoy, meanwhile, sealed the sub-junior boys' gold medal by completing the course in 28:18.39 .

Telheiba Soram (U23 Men : silver), Sarungbam Athouba (Sr Men : bronze), Laikhuram Biten (30-34 yrs Men : gold), Saikhom Bishworjit (35-39 yrs Men :) and Ngangom Dewanjit (40-44 yrs Men : gold) also won a medal apiece to help Manipur end campaign with a haul of 8 gold, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals.
