Imphal, February 16 2022: Ng Rakesh scored a brace to help TRUGPU, Nambol thump TRAU FC 2-0 for the first Group (F) stage win in the 63rd Sir Churachand Singh KSCI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2021-22 being organised by the All Manipur Football Association.

The I-League team were clueless today at Artificial football turf, Lamlong Thongkhong as TRUGPU dominated the game early on and successfully defended their lead after Ng Rakesh scored twice in the first half (10', 35') .

A Jameson (48'), Md Jakir Khan (63') and Sanjoy (68') of the winning side were, however, yellow carded for their unsportsmanlike behaviours.

In another Group F encounter staged at the same venue, SSU who won 5-2 against TRUGPU in the previous encounter, routed Oriental Club, Phungyar 8-0 courtesy a double hattrick by P Naoba.

P Naoba opened the floodgate early in the 9th minute and grabbed his hat-trick with two back to back goals in the 32nd and 39th minutes as Oriental Club defence were left in tatters by the well orchestrated moves of the Singjamei team players.

L Roshan then extended the lead by another goal in the 41st minute before Y Joychandra hit an additional time goal (45+1') to ensure SSU enjoyed a 5-0 lead till halfway.

The Singjamei side continued to press the Phungyar team despite the huge lead after the break and P Naoba pumped in three goals without any interruption in the 64th, 78th and 86th minutes to complete the 8-0 whitewash.

Meanwhile in a Group G league match played later at the same turf, Lunminlen scored a treble to help KLASA FC, Keinou romp 6-0 past DFA Moreh for the second straight victory.

KLASA dominated the game right from the word go and took a commanding 4-0 lead till halftime against the Moreh team as Lunminlen scored twice (1', 27') including the freak first minute goal.

Ch Ronald netted the team's second in the 5th minute and O Sanatomba scored the fourth in the 40th minute.

Lunminlen rose again for his third goal in the 55th minute as DFA Moreh were never seen in the contest and N Momocha scored the decisive goal in the 70th minute.

Elsewhere at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, XI Star Sporting Union Akampat carved out a 4-1 win against RAU, Lairikyengbam Leikai in a Group H league match before Mao FC and PAMYAL, Patsoi posted slender 1-0 victories.

XI Star SU got off to a cautious start and enjoyed a narrow 1-0 lead till the break thanks to S Robinson goal in the 7th minute.

RAU, who carved out a 4-2 win against UBSA in the previous match, came to level terms when Ng Jiten Singh found the equaliser in the 53rd minute but they failed to sustain their momentum and conceded three goals to go down by 1-4 goals.

It was Hemson Yumnam who helped the Akampat team retain the lead in the 63rd minute before S Robinson had his second in the 69th minute.

Hemson Yumnam too scored another goal deep into the stoppage time (90+3') to seal the game 4-1 .

W Olenjit of RAU picked a direct red during the stoppage time (90+3) of this slightly intense encounter.

Meanwhile in another Group G league match, Mao FC who opened their winning account with a 1-0 beating of DFA Moreh in the previous game, earned their second win with another 1-0 win over NACO, Nambul Mapal thanks to Chawang Shimrah goal in the 14th minute.

Later in the Group H league match, A Suranjoy scored in the 69th minute to hand PAMYAL, Patsoi a 1-0 win over UBSA, Mantak.
