Imphal, October 15 2025: Manipur seal the record extending 24th Senior Women's National Football Championship title with a 1-0 beating of West Bengal in the title clash this evening at RKM Ashrama Ground, Narayanpur in Chhattisgarh.

Eyeing the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy, both Manipur and West Bengal showcased their cautious side the game throughout.

Despite dominating the possession and scoring chances, the 23-time champions Manipur failed to breach the West Bengal defence today while the latter team created very few chances.

And as the game looked to proceed towards extra time with the scoreline locked at 0-0, Lynda Kom connected to a cross set up by Phanjoubam Nirmala from around the right middle flank and cut herself into the box to stun the West Bengal custodian Adrija Sarkhel three minutes into the 4-minute injury time.

It was the 10th gold for Lynda Kom for Manipur in the tournament (from the final round).

With the win, defending champions Manipur retained the Senior Women's National Football Championship title and lifted the Rajmata Jijabai Trophy.

Manipur reached the tournament final for the record 28 times with a 4-0 thrashing of Tamil Nadu in the semi-final after topping the final round Group B table.

In the final round league competition, Manipur opened their campaign with a 3-0 thrashing of Haryana before handing Assam a 6-0 defeat in the second match, drubbing Punjab 4-0 in the third match and defeating Uttar Pradesh 4-0 for the fourth win on the trot.

Manipur sealed the 23rd title last year with a similar win over Odisha.
