AIFF U-18 Elite League : TYDA brush aside FC Mangalore 8-2, ASUFII FA beat Corbett FC 4-2 to cruise into Final Round

Imphal, April 15 2026:
TYDA, Toubul prevailed 8-2 over Football Club Mangalore to top Final Round Play-off Group A toppers in the AIFF U-18 Elite League at Ramsar Sahib Sports Stadium, Paddi Sura Singh in Punjab this morning.
By virtue of their play-off finish, they reached the final round and joined FAO Academy, FC Madras and Punjab FC in Group C .
TYDA skipper Naorem Goutam took centre-stage yet again as he netted thrice in today's commanding win despite early setback as Salam Tomthin and Wangjam Alex contributed two goals apiece.
TYDA, who kicked off their play-off campaign with a 4-1 thrashing of ARA FC, were put in the backfoot with Keisham Adison conceding an own goal in the 13 th minute following FC Mangolore early push.
TYDA however fought back and drew level through Naorem Goutam's 33rd minute strike to enter the lemon break with the score levelled at 1-1 .
TYDA entered the second half with more purpose and turned things around with Wangjam Alex who subbed in for Mangte Steven Kom found the back of the FC Mangalore net in the 47th minute.
The scoring spree continued with Naorem Goutam converting a penalty kick in the 50th minute before Salam Tomthin further add to their tally in the 58th minute.
FC Mangalore pulled back a goal in the 61st minute through Afrad Nihal but Naorem Goutam completed his treble in the next minute to make it 5-2 before Wangjam Alex completed his double in the 72nd minute.
FC Mangalore's hopes of coming back were further dashed as Ningthoujam Jackson scored one more goal for TYDA in the 8Qth minute before Salam Tomthin rounded off the scoring in the 82nd minute.
Later in the day, ASUFII FA edged Corbett FC 4-2 for the second Group B playoff win and qualified for the final round (Group D) .
Wangkheirakpam John gave ASUFII FA an early flourish with his brace (5', 8') but Corbett FC rode on goal from Soibam Arjun Singh's 19th minute goal and Lungunlen Vaiphei's own goal in the 35 th minute to draw level and keep the competition open.
The second half saw a fierce competition between the two sides as they looked forward to adding to their tally and finding the lead.
They managed to thwart one another until ASUFII FA finally breached the Corbett FC defence and found the lead in the 85th minute through Ringkon Khaidem, who came off the bench in the 74th minute.
Ringkon also found another goal four minutes into the stoppage time to help ASUFII FA sink Corbett FC 4-2.Manipur's Classic FA and Football 4 Change Academy are also in the final round having produced dominating Zonal Group Stage finishes.
