Imphal, August 14 2026: Youth Club, Uripok and CYLC, Chingamathak emerged boys and girls' champions as the 39th State Sub-Junior Basketball Championships 2026 came to a close at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court.

Monali powered CYLC past YOSC, Khurai in the 69-35 blowout by contributing 32 points alone as Lamjingbi assisted with another major contribution of 18 points.

Henthoi, meanwhile, followed with 8 points as Lingjelthoibi added 7 points including a trey while Angel added 4 points.

They got off to a flying start right from the beginning and enjoyed a 23-9 lead in the first period before cruising to a huge 44-15 lead at halfway mark.

The rivals then shared 14 points apiece in the third quarter before CYLC added 11 points against YOSC's 6 in the final period to seal the game 69-35 .

For YOSC, Thasana led the way with an 11-point finish that included a triple as Ng Chim Chim and Percy scored 8 points apiece.

Lanchenbi on the other hand added 4 points as Buney Sh and Th Chaoba made 2 points apiece.

Phoenix, Billgates and Shriyans guide Youth Club 110-91 past YOSC

The boys' title clash, however, turned into a high scoring encounter but clinical Youth Club deservingly came out 110-91 winners as Phoenix, Billgates and Shriyans were unstoppable.

The trio were in action from the word go and helped the team take a 27-21 first period lead before racing to a 59-43 lead after two periods.

The domination continued with Youth Club adding 27 points against 25 by YOSC before Youth Club posted a 24-23 lead in the final period to wrap up the game 110-91 .

Phoenix impressed the spectators throughout the game and walked out with a match high 51 points as Billgates produced three treys on the way to his 32-point finish.

Shriyans, meanwhile, made 26 points as Dhanaraj converted a free throw to set up the comprehensive win.

Chitan meanwhile led the YOSC scoring by making 44 points as Chitravash scored 25 points.

Hitler (10 pts), Phirepa (8 pts), Oylan (4 pts) were also on target for YOSC in a lost cause.

The valedictory function was attended by Thokchom Satyabrata, Speaker Manipur Legislative Assembly; Nishikant Sapam, MLA Keishamthong AC and president Manipur Basketball Association; K Robindro, MLA Mayang Imphal AC and Sheikh Noorul Hassan, MLA Kshetrigao AC as dignitaries who also led in distributing prizes to the winners and other participants.
