State Taekwondo team aim to shine at Junior Nationals

Imphal, August 14 2024: State taekwondo team are aiming to win big at the 41st National Junior Taekwondo Championships 2024 beginning on August 18 at Divisional Sports Complex, Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.

Rajkumari Haripyari and Nongthombam Singhajit will be leading the Kyorugi squad as managers besides coaches Soraisham Anita and Shagolshem Rojesh.

As per the selection order issued by the All Manipur Taekwondo Championship, L Nikash (U-45 kg), S Rikison (U-48 kg), Nitish Waribam (U-51 kg), Y Yoihenba (U-55 kg), N Anish (U-59 kg), Ningthoujam Surdeep (U-63 kg), L Rohit (U-68 kg), S Malemnganba (U-73 kg), Ch Wangthoi (U-78 kg), Ksh Toptoppa (+78 kg), P Victoria (U-42 kg), Kongbrailatpam Sonia (U-44 kg), Nongthombam Sania (U-46 kg), Sanjenbam Lanchenbi (U-49 kg), Naorem Rebeca (U-52 kg), Hafija Khatun (U-55 kg), Luckysana Konthoujam (U-59 kg), Gharluxmi Phurailatpam (U-63 kg) and Irungbam Sayata (U-68 kg) are in the Kyorugi squad.

Meanwhile, Anganba Elangbam and Soibam Loushingbi will be competing in the individual poomsae competition.

Anganba and N Sania will also feature in the poomsae pair event as L Rohit, RK Liokanta and Ph Bidyananda will feature in the group male event and Kh Quan a Chanu, K Luckysana and S Lanchenbi will feature in the group female event.

The squad will be led by RK Haripyari as coach and Nongthombam Singhajit as manager, said the association in the selection order.

The team will be leaving for the championships tomorrow.
