64th State Level Subroto Mukerjee Inter School Football Tournaments underway

Imphal, July 12 2025: The 64th edition of State Level Subroto Mukerjee Inter School Football Tournaments for U-15 and U-17 boys and U-17 girls got underway at three venues under the aegis of the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports.

The tournaments were formally opened at Football Turf Ground, Langjing in the presence of N Praveen, Secretary, Youth Affairs and Sports; Dr Mayengbam Veto, Director Youth Affairs and Sports; Padmashree Kunjarani, Comdt CRPF; Dronacharya Award recipient L Anita, Assistant Director, Youth Affairs and Sports and Ng Bala Devi, international footballer as dignitaries.

Schools representing 11 districts are participating in the tournaments.

U-15 Boys

The U-15 boys tournament kicked off at Lilong Chajing Ground.

The opening day of the tournament saw St Paul's Hr Sec School representing Chandel beating Ramananda HS of Imphal East 2-0 in the opening match.

In other matches of the U-15 boys tournament, Wangoo Hr Sec School representing Bishnupur and Padma Ratna English School representing Kakching played out a 2-2 draw; AG Memorial Academy of Thoubal beat St Joseph's Hr Sec School of Tengnoupal 3-1 and Noney's Khangsillung Hr Sec School played out a 1-1 draw with Kazipphung HS of Ukhrul.

U-17 Girls

In the opening match of the U-17 girls competition staged at Langjing Turf Ground, CT Hr Sec School of Imphal West devastated Amutombi Divine Life Eng School of Kakching 21-0.In the other matches, Oinam Govt Hr Sec School, Bishnupur beat Needy Home Academy, Kangpokpi 13-0; St Peter's Hr Sec School, Chandel beat Samaritan Public School, Senapati 2-1; Khangsillung Hr Sec School crushed Tekcham HS 16-0 and Oinam Government Hr Sec School beat Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya, Tengnoupal 10-0 .

U-17 Boys

Diana English School, Imphal East defeated Little Angel Eng School 4-0 in the opening match of the U-17 boys' tournament at Ningombam Mini Stadium before Yumnam Huidrom Hr Sec School brushed aside Saklim HS, Senapati 6-1; Langmeidong Hr Sec School, Kakching played out a 1-1 draw with TG English School, Bishnupur and Khangsillung Hr Sec School outlasted Shalom Eng Academy, Tengnoupal 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 regulation time draw.
