AMGA hosts blessing session for State trio, coach bound for Suzuki World Cup in Tokyo

The All Manipur Gymnastics Association (AMGA) hosted a pre-competition blessing session today for three State gymnasts and a coach who will be representing India at the prestigious Suzuki World Cup 2026 scheduled to be held from April 16to 19 in Tokyo, Japan.
Notably, State gymnast Ariha Panganbam, Rajkumari Thoithoilembi Chanu and Mutum Roshan will be competing in the Aerobic Gymnastics competition at the Tokyo event while Yumnam Ranjan will be leading as a coach of the National team.

The gymnasts and the coach were felicitated and blessed by All Manipur Gymnastics Association functionaries including AMGA president L Tiken and general secretary Y Bony, and well wishers who wished them success at the global event.
As many as 6 gymnasts from Manipur attended the National team trial conducted in Maharashtra from February 8 and three made the cut to the National team.
Ariha Pangambam, the eldest daughter of Akhelo and Asem Chaoba Devi of Kongba Uchekon, Imphal, is a multiple time National champion in Aerobic gymnastics and has represented India in numerous international competitions.
Ariha had not only won national titles in events held at Kerala, Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka and others, but also made top podium finishes in Nationals Games hosted by Goa in 2023 and Uttarakhand in 2025.Ariha who also secured an individual title at the SISB and Bangkok Aerobic Gymnastics 2024 is appearing in the Suzuki World Cup for the fifth time.
Ariha is pursuing post graduation in Sports Management and Technology at the prestigious AISTS in Mumbai.
Rajkumari Thoithoilembi Chanu, daughter of RK Chingkheinganba and Nongmaithem Rita of Khurai Thangjam Leikai, is meanwhile going to make her debut at the Tokyo event.
She is also one of the State's promising Aerobic gymnasts and had made her mark by securing a silver medal in the Uttarakhand National Games last year and gold medals in National championships held in Kerala, Karnataka and Jammu and Kashmir.
On the other hand, Mutum Roshan is set to appear in the Suzuki World Cup for the third time.
Roshan, son of Mutum Shanti and Mutum Ongbi Bina of Nongpok Sanjenbam, is also a multiple time National championship gold medallist and is reading in Class XII at International Modernised Academy, Konung Mamang.
