State Level Gymnastics Championships : DGA Bishnupur emerge overall team champions

Imphal, August 11 2024: District Gymnastics Association, Bishnupur (DGAB) emerged overall team champions of the 42nd State Level Gymnastics Championships hosted by organised by the All Manipur Gymnastics Association at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium.

DGAB amassed as many as 25 gold, 18 silver and 10 bronze medals to finish on top of the medal tally as THYIO, Thangmeiband finished overall runners up with 5 gold, 5 silver and 13 bronze medals. Floor Exercise

In the senior women's Floor Exercise competition, Babiana secured highest 10.60 points to win the gold as Thokchom Jenita and Thokchom Priya Devi of DGAB secured 10.10 and 9.85 points respectively to settle for the silver and the bronze medals.

O Bandana of DGAB (12.80 pts), Lanchenbi Moirangthem of HU (12.15 pts) and Thoibisana Soibam of Citizen Club (18.45 pts) meanwhile claimed the floor exercise gold medals for junior girls, sub-junior girls (U-12) and U-10 girls respectively.

Th Abinash in the meantime bagged the senior men's floor exercise gold medal by scoring 12.15 points as his compatriot DGAB grabbed the silver medal with 11.20 points and THYIO's Hawaibam Debrag Khuman picked the bronze medal with 10.90 points.

Peter Naorem of DGAB also won the junior boys' floor exercise gold while Md Mukhtadir Alibuksh Mayangmayum of THYIO (13.55 pts) and Ph Mahesh of DGAB (12.30 pts) claimed U-12 boys and U-14 boys' gold medals.

Balancing Beam

DGAB's Jenita claimed the senior women's Balancing Beam gold medal as she collected 11.050 points while Mathiuhuailiu Babiana Pame of UYC finished second with 8.70 points to settle for the silver medal.

Thokchom Priya of DGAB grabbed the bronze medal of the same event with 7.55 points.

Gracemi Pangambam of UYAC (11.90 pts), Rajshree Kangabam of Citizen Club (10.25 pts) and Irengbam Imomleima of UYC (14.95 pts) also topped the Balancing Beam competitions for Junior, Sub-Junior and U-10 girls.

Horizontal Bar

DGAB's gold medal rush continued with Kh Laxman securing the senior men's Horizontal Bar gold medal by posting 11.85 points.

Th Abinash of the same unit bagged the silver medal by securing 6.25 points. DGAB's Peter Naorem (11.40 pts), Th Baskar (10.45 pts) and Manikhomba (11.75 pts) also won gold medals in junior boys, U-12 boys and U-14 boys' competitions.

Pommel Horse

The day also saw Hawaibam Debrag of THYIO clinching Pommel Horse gold medal for senior men securing 10.40 points as Th Abinash of DGAB (8.15 pts) and Kh Laxman of DGAB (7.10) finished second and third.

DGAB's N Deepak Meitei (10.15 pts), Thongam Lamnganba (6.40 pts) and Peter Naorem (5.20 pts) also secured junior boys' gold, silver and bronze medals.
