P Ariha, RK Thoithoilembi, M Romesh star as Manipur amass 7 medals
Senior gymnast Pangambam Ariha and junior gymnasts RK Thoithoilembi and M Romesh picked gold medals as Manipur finished the All Age Group Aerobic Gymnastics National Championships campaign with a haul of 7 medals.
The championships were organised by the Gymnastics Association, Kerala under the Gymnastics Federation of India from September 8 to 10 at Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium, Kadavanthra, Kochi.
Maharashtra emerged overall team champions with a total of 102 points as Gujarat finished runners up with 49 points and Karnataka finished second runners up with 40 points.

Senior
Ariha Pangambam continued to impress with her form, securing a gold medal in the championship for the record fifth time with an impressive score of 18.200 points, the highest by any athlete in the championship.
Majida Khatun (16.750 pts) of West Bengal and Mansi Kiran Deshmukh (15.150 pts) of Maharashtra finished second and third in this competition.
In the meantime, Okram Umajit settled for a silver medal in the senior men's competition with a score of 15.80 points as Kosambia Meet of Gujarat sealed the gold medal with 15.850 points and Arya Pavan Shah of Maharashtra settled for the bronze medal with 15.700 points.
The senior trio of Ariha, Huirem Jesika and Pangambam Anjori also earned Manipur a bronze medal by securing 15.733 points as Maharashtra and West Bengal secured the top two spots.
With 1 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals, Manipur senior team were adjudged runners up in the senior section as Maharashtra earned the pole position with 5 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals.
Junior
RK Thoithoilembi Chanu dominated the junior circuit and sealed two gold medals, one apiece in the individual and the mixed pair event with Mutum Romesh.
She scored 15.350 points to seal the gold medal in the individual competition and 14.750 points with Romesh.
Unnati Bokaria of Karnataka (15.050 pts) secured the silver medal in the same competition as Manipur's Konsam Maliyani settled for a bronze medal with 14.700 points.
Mutum Romesh was also able to add a silver medal to the State's tally finishing second in the individual competition with a score of 15.450 points.
With 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze medals, the junior team were able to seal runners up spot as Maharashtra gymnasts amassed 4 gold and 1 bronze to finish atop.
