Imphal, December 09 2025: Manipur were 161/4 to take a 171-run lead at stumps on Day 2 after bowling out Sikkim for the first innings total of 145 runs in the fourth tie of the Cooch Behar Trophy at SICA Ground, Rangpo.

Yesterday, the hosts bowled out Manipur for 155 runs within 56.2 overs riding on prolific bowling performances from Aadnan, who starred with a fifer (5/46 in 21 overs), and two wicket feats by Bhavya (2/38 in 14 overs) and Rohit (2/10 in 7.2 overs) .

Naesh 41 off 67, Max 23 off 39, Robinson 17 off 37, Lanchenba 15 off 54, Zamir 15 off 56 and Daniesh 12 off 17 managed double digit scores for Manipur in the first innings before folding up at 155 .

Manipur bowlers however put in a concerted effort to dismantle the hosts for 145 runs within 53.5 overs to take a 10-run first innings lead this morning.

Parvin 43 off 78, Deepak 39 off 108 and Sahil 20 off 52 were the leading run getters for Sikkim in their first innings as Danish (3/38 in 14 overs), Rain (2/17 in 6 overs), and Y Chingkhei Nganba (2/19) shared 7 crucial wickets and Th Lucky (1/ 23), Kaiku (1/14), and S Robinson (1/4) chipped in with a wicket apiece.

After the innings break, Manipur had a slow start and were reduced to 63/2 with Aadnan and Rohit sharing the two wickets before Th Lucky and Naesh forged an 81-run partnership for the third wicket off 165 balls to take Manipur to 144 until Naesh was dismissed for 18 runs in the 44th over.

Lucky also fell the next over on 87 off 149 to Rohit.

Ali Karim 8 off 32 and Lanchenba 5 off 19 were batting as Manipur closed out the second day at 161/4 (53 overs) .

Notably, Manipur had won three of three previous games this season.
