CAF & PD seal Departmental Cricket League title

Imphal, September 08 2025: CAF & PD claimed the title of the Departmental Cricket League Tournament organised by the Manipur Secretariat Cricket Club at Samusang ground.

CAF & PD beat High Court of Manipur by 8 wickets in the final clash yesterday to seal the top honour.

In the final match of the limited-over tournament with 15 overs an innings, High Court of Manipur registered 70 for 9 wickets after winning the toss before CAF & PD eased to the target in 10.3 overs with 8 wickets left to spare.

James 15, Yengkhom Nabakumar 12, Jit Khuman 11 and Roshan DW 10 made the most of the score for the High Court of Manipur team after electing to bat first.

The innings saw Govind Luwang (2/19) and Laishram Robertson (2/10) picked up two wickets apiece for CAF & PD as Hemchand (1/12) and Shyamjai (1/8) chipped in with a wicket apiece.

Bidyachandra 27 not out off 28 balls and Shamurailatpam Deepankar Sharma 40 not out off 26 balls then forged a 61-run partnership for the third wicket to seal the victory for CAF & PD team in 10.3 overs despite Jit Khuman removing Prem 4 and L Robertson 0 in the 2nd and 4th deliveries of the 4th over.

Sh Deepankar Sharma was adjudged man of the match as CAF & PD team skipper L Robertson was named man of the series.
