Manipur's dominance in sepaktakraw discipline at the national level competition remains unchallenged as the State claimed the team event title of the 10th Sub Junior National Sepaktakraw championship being played at pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Margao of Goa.
In the boys' final played today, Manipur overwhelmed Andhra Pradesh 21-19 21-14 in the first regu before clinching the championship title with a 21-17 21-14 victory in the second regu.
Manipur reached the semi final defeating Orissa and Goa with identical 2-0 regu wins and advanced into the summit round defeating Tamil Nadu by the same scoreline thus underlining its supremacy.
On the otherhand, State eves had a comparatively tougher final against Andhra Pradesh which was eventually won in three regus (sets) at 21-12 21-5; 19-21 21-19 13-15; 21-6 21-12.Enroute to the final, Manipur outclassed Delhi and Orissa with Tamil Nadu being the semi final victim.
The regu event competition will commence tomorrow.
