9th MNCA Plate Tournament : RK Amarjeet bowls NC Ato 115-run victory

Imphal, December 07 2024: RK Amarjeet enjoyed a five-for to help NCA, Ningthoukhong register a huge 115 run victory against KIYC, Kshetrigao in a Group B match of the ongoing 9th MNCA Plate Tournament at Lairenjam Public Ground.

KIYC won the toss and elected to field first.

They bowled out NCA for 194 runs in 31.5 overs but slumped to 79 all out in 16.2 overs as RK Amarjeet ripped apart their batting line up sweeping five top order and middle order batters on the way to his 5/34 with the assistance of RK Chourjeet (2/ 24) and L Sadananda (2/0) .

Earlier in the NCA innings, Angom Robinhood starred with a 57-ball 57 as RK Chourjeet 25, RK Amarjeet 22 and Yumnam Bobby 20 made significant contributions.

Md Abdulla Khan returned with the best bowling figures of 5/43 for KIYC before their batting department failed terribly in the chase.

Amarjeet who picked five wickets and added 22 runs was adjudged player of the match.

Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, IBSA cruised to their second Group A victory by defeating THAU, Thangmeiband by 86 runs.

Put in to bat first, IBSA racked up 197 for 7 in the allotted 30 overs thanks to Keithellakpam Nelson's knock of 79 runs off 70 balls (11 fours and 1 six) and contributions from Nandakumar Singh 42 and Yengkhom Bhomendro 26 not out.

IBSA then dismissed THAU for 111 runs in 25.1 overs riding on a concerted bowling effort led by James Awang who finished with the bowling figures of 3/21 .

For THAU, Rajkumar Thapa picked two wickets (2) while four others picked a wicket apiece before they had a forgetful chase.

Hanjabam Diamond 29, Pukhrambam Hilbert 21 and Hanjabam Joykison 19 were the double digit run getters for THAU as three batters departed on ducks.

Keithellakpam Nelson who hit a half century and picked a wicket was adjudged player of the match.
