Khelo India Youth Games Day 4 : Manipur men and women's teams advance to Sepaktakraw's quad event semis

Having sealed both the men's and women's gold medals in team events in the 7th Khelo India Youth Games being hosted by Bihar, Manipur Sepaktakraw players continued to dominate the event and progressed into the semi-finals with league stage sweeps.
In the men's competition, Manipur sealed straight sets victories against Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Kerala to complete the league stage sweep and top Group B.Meanwhile in the women's competition, Manipur defeated Delhi in straight sets for the first win before beating Andhra Pradesh and Bihar in the successive matches to end the group stage unbeaten and progress into the semi-finals.
Volleyball
The day also saw Manipur suffer straight sets loss to Jammu and Kashmir in a semi-final clash.
They will play Punjab in a bronze medal match tomorrow.
Table Tennis
Manipur lone Table Tennis player Segal bow out with just league stage win at the games.
Segal, who suffered his first game loss to Maharashtra, beat Karnataka by 3-2 sets in the second game but went down by 1-3 sets to Himachal Pradesh in the final league game.
Football
Manipur Women's team suffered a 0-2 loss to Haryana in the second group match today.
Manipur had earlier opened their league campaign with a 3-0 rout of Andhra Pradesh on May 5 .
Hockey
Manipur started the men's hockey campaign on a sour note as they went down by 2-5 goals to Uttar Pradesh today.
Cycling
Cyclists also failed to secure a podium finish today despite their efforts.
Huirom Suraj was in action in the men's sprint event while Th Gyananta and Keisham Daya competed in the men's 3 km pursuit.
H Thajamanbi also competed in the women's 1 km and 2 km pursuit events but could not make it to the top three positions.
Judo
Yumnam Yohenba also missed out on a bronze medal in the men's -60 kg category Judo competition.
State athletes have so far amassed 2 gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze medals.
