5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy : RCA beat KSDO by 72 runs to reclaim title

Former champions RCA, Lilong defeated KSDO, Kyamgei by 72 runs to seal the title of the 5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Winning the toss and electing to bat, RCA posted 197/7 in their allotted 30 overs before bowling out KSDO for 125 in 26.5 overs.
The win secured RCA's second title in the tournament's history, having first lifted the trophy in its 2nd edition.
Syed Sami Ul anchored the innings with a fluent 65 off 47 balls, laced with 12 boundaries, while Heibokmayum Lucky Ahmed provided vital impetus with 48 off 41 balls, including four fours and two sixes.

RCA suffered an early blow when Makakmayum Mansur Alam fell for 4 to Md Gunbas, but Afiq Hussain (22 off 47) and Syed Sami Ul rebuilt with a 97-run stand off 83 balls to take the side past 100 .
RCA then slipped to 115/4 in 17.3 overs as Sami Ul was run out in the 15th over, followed by Kh Mutahid's run out an over later.
Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan then removed Afiq for the fourth wicket.
Heibokmayum Lucky Ahmed revived the innings, adding 48 runs off 56 balls for the fifth wicket with Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain (24 off 34), before a brisk 30-run partnership off 17 balls with Makakmayum Irfan (6 off 6) lifted RCA further.
Khutheibam Murshid Alam 1 and Farhan Ahmed 0 were unbeaten as RCA as RCA closed at 197/7 .
For KSDO, Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan was the pick of the bowlers with 1/28 from six overs, supported by Kh Firdos (1/40) and Md Gunbas (1/42) .
Chasing 198, KSDO lost Abu Sufiyan for a 7-ball duck to Lucky Ahmed on the last ball of the third over.
Mujamin and Kh Firdos then added 47 off 49 for the second wicket to keep hopes alive, until Khutheibam Murshid Alam dismissed Mujamin for 42 off 38 balls, with six fours and a six, in the 12th over.
Firdos held firm and put on another 45 off 53 with Sangomsumpham Arish, but Arish's run out for the third wicket proved the turning point.
Wickets fell steadily thereafter as Makakmayum Irfan and Heibokmayum Lucky Ahmed struck at regular intervals.
Lucky Ahmed starred with the ball, returning figures of 5/17 in 4.5 overs, while Irfan finished with 3/27 in six overs, including the crucial wicket of Firdos, who top-scored with 47 off 60 balls before falling as the eighth wicket.
Champions RCA took home a cash prize of Rs 30,000 and the winners' trophy, while runners-up KSDO received Rs 20,000 and a trophy.
Player of the final match Lucky Ahmed was also feted with a cash prize of Rs 2,000 and a trophy as compatriot Farhan Ahmed was adjudged highest wicket taker for taking 25 wickets in 8 innings and received a cash prize of Rs 2,500 and a trophy.
Thongam Rahul of NCA, Nambol was on the other hand feted with the highest run getter prize of Rs 2,500 and a trophy for scoring 362 runs in 5 innings as YAL's Alvas Makakmayum (10 wickets in 5 innings) was named emerging player (Rs 1,500 cash prize and a trophy) .
KSDO's Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan was declared Player of the Tournament for his all-round performance - 356 runs and 22 wickets in seven matches.
