Imphal, March 06 2022: KSDO, Kiyamgei thumped PTCC, Patsoi Part II by 152 runs for the second Group A victory in ongoing 1st MNCA Super Plate Tournament as debutants RUL, Malom kicked off their Group B campaign with an impressive 258-run victory against KASC, Khomidok today.

Having beaten PCC, Mayaikoibi in their opening match, KSDO stacked up a modest total of 272 runs losing 5 wickets at Langthabal Public Ground after winning the toss and electing to bat first.

Mohammed Shamir Khan was trapped lbw by Th Mocha on 61 and Hamza took the batting charge.

He struck 18 fours and 2 sixes on the way to his 118 runs total before being removed by Naorem Victor Meitei in the 3rd delivery of the 37th over.

Tarique Aziz was not out on 26 and Anish Khan on 2 as KSDO wrapped up their innings on 272 for 5 .

Naorem Victor finished with the best bowling figures of 2/34 in 5 overs as Sohail Akram, Deepak and Thangjam Mocha picked a wicket each.

Shajahan of KSDO then spun web around PTCC batters to finish with a five-for and helped restrict the Patsoi team to 120 all out within 36 overs (35.5) .

Hamza, Md Shamir Khan and Md Abdul Razaque also fetched a wicket each in this innings which saw Andyroshan Mandingbam topscoring with 35 runs off 38 balls.

Hijam Hemchandra also managed 26 runs for PTCC before they slumped.

Hamza of KSDO was eventually named man of the match.

Meanwhile at Luwang-pokpa Cricket Stadium, RUL, Malom piled up a massive total of 322 runs for 3 and skittled out KASC for 64 runs in just 21.3 overs for the huge win.

Opting to bat first, RUL lost Sanjenbam Suresh on 4-ball 1 to Md Arif but the second wicket stand between Mutum Sudhir proved fruitful as both punished KASC bowlers to score half centuries.

RUL slipped to 133/2 in 21 overs after losing Mutum Sudhir on 66 to Md Arif but Jay Singh kept the strike on and scored a ton with Ayekpam Rakesh playing second fiddle.

Jay Singh was lbw out to Md Babu on 119 when RUL was 2 run shy from 300-run mark.

Ayekpam Rakesh had a significant innings adding an unbeaten 81 .

Jay Singh Hourakcham (5/18 in 4 overs) and Nongthombam Sarojkumar (3/10 in 7 overs which contained 3 maidens) then dismantled KASC batters in the chase.

Eventually, Jay Singh who produced an all round performance was named man of the match.

Elsewhere at Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground (Khamnam Bazar), PCC who suffered the opening game loss to KSDO, overwhelm THAU, Thangmeiband by 212 runs.

The innings saw THAU's medium pacers Ranjan Singh Laishram (3/64 in 8 overs) and Rabikanta Sharma Shanglakpam (3/51 in 8 overs) doing all the spadework as Krishachandra claimed twice for 50 in 7.5 overs and Nicholas bagged a wicket for 43 runs in 8 overs.

THAU however had a disastrous chase as wickets tumbled down in quick succession and folded up with a paltry total of 68 all out in 19 overs with PCC bowlers making a concerted effort.

Pechimayum Amarjit Singh was the highest run getter for the team with 15 runs followed by Bigyananda 13 and Rabikanta 11 .

Lourembam Dipu (2/15 in 5 overs), Chingakham Ranjan (2/11 in 4 overs), Thokchom Anand (2/5 in 3 overs) and John N Hmar (2/10 in 2 overs) fetched two wickets apiece to apply tremendous pressure on THAU batters while L Chingkheihunba Meitei picked up a wicket for 14 runs in 4 overs which include a maiden.
