In 2007 Muaythai is included as a full medal sport for both male and female athletes, and the International Federation for Muaythai is the IFMA.
Sandham is also one of the Vice Chairmen of IFMA Safety Committee, World HQs, Bangkok, Thailand.
The SEA Games, is a biannual multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia.
The SEA Games are under regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).
Sandham's nomination as one of the Jury Members of the upcoming SEA Games at Bangkok gives a morale boosts to not only the rank and file of the Muaythai Federation of India (MFI) but also across the nation as it would once again automatically prove the legality of Muaythai under his leadership in Olympic arena.
Such position would also dismiss those who were repeatedly claiming to be the genuine ones of Muaythai body in India, while for the fact that Indian Muaythai Team under Sandham has been representing India in all the International Muaythai Championships under IFMA and the historic 13 Asian Games held in various parts of the world.
IFMA is recognized by General Association of International Sports Federation (GAIFS) as the only International Muaythai Governing Body in the world.
It may be mentioned that Sandham was the only qualified IFMA Referee from the whole of South Asian countries and has been refereeing and judging in various World Muaythai Championships including 13th Asian Games over a decade.
