Ningthoujam Colman, S Thajamanbi clinch men and women's singles title

Imphal West's Ningthoujam Colman and Imphal East's S Thajamanbi sealed the men and women's title of the 3 7th District Inter Club and State Open Ranking Table Tennis Championship 2025 .

The championship was organised by the District Table Tennis Association, Imphal East under the aegis of the Manipur Table Tennis Association from October 1 at Indoor Stadium, DMU Campus.

The closing cum valedictory function was attended by Thokchom Radheshyam, MLA Heirok AC; Mangsatabam Gojendro, president District Table Tennis Association, Imphal East; Prof Wahengbam Chandbabu, VC DM University and others.

The final day of the championship saw RK Athoiba who claimed the U-13 Boys' title yesterday by defeating Nameirakpam Ambrose of Thoubal 11-8, 11-6, 11-7 sealed the U-11 singles title as well by getting better of Bhaktaraj Th 7-11, 11-3, 13-11, 11-7 in the final match.

Men's double title in the meantime went to IW's Ningthoujam Colman and Akshay Thoudam as the pair defeated MPSC's pair of L Vikram and Muhindro Soram in a five set thriller.

Thoubal's Leitanthem Lamjingba in the meantime claimed the U-19 boys' singles title by defeating Imphal East's Ksh Nelson 15-13, 11-7, 10-12, 11-7, 11-5 in the final.

The day also saw women's doubles runner up S Thajamanbi claiming the women's singles title with a 12-10, 11-8, 11-6, 8-11, 11-6 win over Angkita Sanjenbam of Imphal West in the final.

Notably Angkita had sealed both the U-l9 and U-l5 girls singles titles yesterday.

Meanwhile, N Colman sealed the men's singles title this evening with a 11-8, 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 7-11, 11-7 win over compatriot Elangbam Thomas in the final.
