MBSU cruise into CC Meet QFs

Imphal, December 04, 2008: With two victories in as many matches, MBSU, Wahengbam Leikai sealed its berth in the quarter finals of the 52nd CC Meet football tournament as Group D toppers.

Taking on Khurai's USA in the group's last match at Mapal kangjeibung this afternoon, MBSU coasted to a solitary goal win when N Dhananjoy found the back of the USA net off a Paokhomang Hangsing pass in the 49th minute.

MBSU had won its first pre-quarter final group match against KSC, Lambulane 3-1 .

Later in the day, PYC, Phoudel defeated NCYWO, Nungsai Chiru 4-2 in a Group E tie on goals from Bikram (3rd), md Riyaz Khan (25th, 68th) and K Premananda (50th).Kh rohonglen scored both the NCYWO goals.

In tomorrow's matches, YDO will play against NLYC at 12.05 pm while PYA will take on NEROCA at 1.45 pm.
