27th Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship : Punjab on top with four medals including 2 gold, A Florina opens Manipur's gold medal account

Imphal, November 04 2025: Punjab are leading the medal tally with four medals including 2 gold, 1 silver and 1 bronze as the 27th Sub-Junior National Fencing Championship being hosted by Manipur Fencing Association at Khuman Lampak Indoor Stadium entered the second day.

Haryana are following Punjab closely in second place with 1 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals while hosts Manipur are third with 1 gold and 1 bronze medals.

Manraj Singh won Punjab a gold medal in the boys individual sabre competition by defeating Gusian Kusagar of Uttarakhand in the final today.

Tamil Nadu's SD Joshi and Haryana's Vansh shared the bronze medal podium of the competition.

Aheibam Florina mean while claimed the girls' individual sabre gold by getting better of Gourika of Haryana in the final.

Ishika of Punjab and Advika Datta of Chandigarh won bronze medals in this competition.

Haryana girls' team comprising Arpita, Gourika, Kamika, and Kharb Urvi on the other hand claimed the team event gold by defeating Hamoor, Ishita, Navya Sharma and Vidhi Sharma in the final.

Tamil Nadu team and Karnataka team shared bronze medals in this event.

Punjab also secured the boys' team sabre competition gold with Aaron, Kumar Aarav, Samarjit and Manraj Singh beating the Haryana team comprising Prince, Ronak, Samdhyan Atiksh and Vansh.

The Manipur team featuring N Dexter Luwang, Laishram Khumanlakpa, Hijam Luching Meitei, and Ningombam Richtopper settled for the bronze medal in this event alongside the Tamil Nadu team.
