State Subroto Mukerjee U-14 & U-17 boys' football tournament Churachandpur, Thoubal clinch U-14, U-17 titles

Imphal, July 04 2015 : Bijang Loubok Jr HS, Churachandpur and Little Angel Paradise School, Thoubal clinched the titles of the U-14 and U-17 boys' Inter School Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament 2015 for Manipur, organised by the Department of Youth Affairs and Sports (DYAS), Khuman Lampak today at Main Stadium, Khuman Lampak, Imphal.

In today's U-14 boys' final, Bijang Loubok Jr HS, Churachandpur edged out Pinjabali HS, Bishnupur by a margin of 2 goals to one.

The winning goals were scored by Pourekhen Mung and Mangminthang in the 9th and 19th minute respectively.

On the other side the solitary goal for Bishnupur team was scored by M Givson in the 60th minute.

Mangminthang and Suanlal Muan of the Churachandpur side were yellow carded during the match for unsporting behaviour.

In the U-17 boy's final, Little Angel Paradise School, Thoubal defeated Hermon English School, Churachand-pur by a margin of 4 goals to two via penalty shootout after both sides failed to break the deadlock during the normal time.

In the penalty shootout, S Ingocha, N Sushilkumar, Y Sushilkumar and Kh Rocky found their marks to give 4 goals to the Thoubal team.

On the other hand, only Daniel and Khumangaite find their targets while Henry and Goulien Hangsing could not score.

N Sushilkumar of Thoubal team and Henry and T Liansuan of Churachandpur side were booked during the match for unsporting behaviour while Lianbiak Lal were sent out in the 69th minute minute.

Champions Bijang Loubok Jr HS, Churachandpur and Little Angel Paradise School, Thoubal will represent the State in the 56th Subroto Cup Football Tournament, organised by the Subroto Mukerjee Sports Education Society under the aegis of Indian Airforce Sports Control Board from September 10 to 16 at Delhi.

The closing ceremony was attended by IAS retired Dr RK Nimai and Manipur Omympic Association secretary Sunil Elangbam.
