39th State Sub-Junior Basketball Championship : Dominating wins for YOSC, Youth Club boys; YOSC girls pull off 24-9 win

YOSC, Khurai and Youth Club, Uripok registered landslide victories in the boys' competition of the 39th State Sub-Junior Basketball Championship while YOSC, Khurai girls pulled off a commanding 24-9 win over NETA, Kangla today at Brahmapur Nahabam Court.
In the second match of the boys competition and today's opening match, YOSC outclassed CYLC, Chingamathak by 64-6 points thanks to a masterclass from Chitan.

Chitan shone with 14 two-pointers to set up the commanding win for the Khurai team as Chitravash scored second highest 13 points.
They were followed by Phirepa (10 pts), Dylan (7 pts including a trey), Hitler (4 pts) and Chingkheingakpa (2 pts) .
For CYLC, Bhagivat scored 5 points as Thomas added one.
In the other boys' fixture, Youth Club prevailed 54-4 over Model Club to kickstart their league campaign in style.
Youth Club dominated from the start, leading Model Club 18-0 in the first period before securing a 37-0 cushion at the halfway mark.
They raced to a 48-3 lead after three periods before wrapping up the 54-4 victory.
Achom Phoenix led the way for Youth Club, hammering in 18 points, while Billgates Thiyam and Shiryans Potshangbam scored a trey apiece on the way to their 16 and 15-point finishes, Nishan Potshangbam also added 2 points to Youth Club's tally as Nongthombam Dhanaraj chipped in three points.
For Model Club, Tomthin Thongam added 3 points as Oinam Kenny managed 1 point.
YOSC open campaign with 24-9 win over NETA
The day also saw YOSC beat NETA by 24-9 points in a one sided girls' match.
Ng Chim Chim and T Thasana added 8 points apiece to anchor the comfortable win for YOSC, while M Percy managed 6 points and Sh Bunny contributed 2 points.
For NETA, Chanukhombi (4 pts), Chingulembi (3 pts), and Kajal (2 pts) found the target.
