Imphal, July 03 2024: SAI STC Imphal notched up both the junior boys regu event and senior men's doubles event titles in the 5-team All India Inter SAI Sepaktakraw Tournament being hosted by SAI NERC Imphal at Khuman Lampak.

STC Imphal pulled off a 15-11, 15-8 win over STC Dimapur in the junior boys' title clash this afternoon to seal the top honours as STC Imphal defeated STC Bareilly 15-8, 15-8 in the men's doubles final.

In the one-off junior girls regu event match which was also staged today, STC Imphal sealed an easy 15-8, 15-8 win over KIC, Imphal East.

Earlier in the junior boys' regu event league stage, STC Imphal secured four of four victories to finish toppers while STC Dimapur finished runners up with three victories.

STC Imphal opened their campaign with a 15-7, 15-9 win over STC Bareilly this morning before defeating STC Delhi 15-8, 15-3 for the second victory.

They eased to a 15-10, 15-7 win over STC Dimapur in the third match and overcame Khelo India Centre (KIC), Imphal East 15-7, 13-15, 15-10 to complete the sweep.

Meanwhile, STC Dimapur opened the winning account with a 15-7, 15-13 win over STC Delhi before edging past KIC Imphal East 15-13, 11-15, 15-8 for the second win.

After losing to STC Imphal in the third match, STC kept their final hopes alive by beating STC Bareilly 15-7, 17-15 in their fourth match.

In other league matches, STC Bareilly sealed a 15-11, 15-8 win over KIC, Imphal East before beating STC Delhi 15-11, 15-9 while KIC, Imphal East defeated STC Delhi 15-13, 15-8 .

In the men's doubles league round, STC Imphal finished on top unbeaten in four matches while STC Bareily registered three wins to finish league runners up and set up a final date with STC Imphal.

STC Bareilly started their campaign with a 15-12, 15-4 win over STC Dimapur while STC Imphal pulled off a 15-12, 15-12 win over STC Delhi for their first win.

STC Imphal then handed STC Bareilly a 15-10, 17-16 beating in their second encounter before STC Imphal stretched their winning run by defeating STC Dimapur 15-12, 15-9 and KIC, Imphal East 15-5, 15-8 .

STC Bareilly in the meantime returned to winning ways by defeating STC Delhi 15-8, 15-11 in their third match before securing a 15-9, 15-9 win over KIC, Imphal East for their third win in four matches.

In other league round matches, KIC Imphal East eased past STC Dimapur 15-10, 15-5 and STC Delhi 15-6, 15-6 before STC Delhi staged a 16-17, 15-2, 15-12 comeback win over STC Dimapur in the final league match.

The championship will conclude tomorrow.
