Manipur bring home 11 medals from Powerlifting Nationals

Imphal, June 03 2025: Manipur brought home 10 medals including 3 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze medals from the National Powerlifting (Equipped and Unequipped) and Deadlift Championships which was held from May 30 to June 1 .

The championships for Sub-Junior, Junior, Senior and Masters was held near Maa Adhyashakti Dham in Rohini, Delhi under the auspices of the Indian Powerlifting Federation.

All the medals for Manipur were won in the deadlift competitions with three athletes winning two medals apiece making podium finishes in both the Senior and Masters-I categories.

The athletes who won gold medal at the event include Y Omika Devi who lifted highest 117.5 kg in the Women's 84+ kg category competition; W Jentakumar who lifted best 145 kg in the Master-I 83 kg category and Th Premmojit who lifted best 210 kg in the Master-I 120 kg category.

K Premjit Singh meanwhile bagged the two silver medals in the Senior and Masters-I's 95 kg categories completing 205 kg lift as Th Rajiv bagged the other silver medal in the Masters-I 105 kg category.

The athletes who bagged bronze medals include H Dayarani Devi, who managed third best lift of 72.5 kg in 52 kg category; O Kalpana, who managed 110 kg lift in the women's 84+ kg category; P Suraj, who managed 140 kg lift in the Masters-I 74 kg category; Th Rajiv, who managed 162.5 kg finish in the senior men's 105 kg category and Premmojit, who finished third in the senior men's category with the 210 kg finish.
