State wushu players return with five medals from Junior Asian Wushu C'ships

Imphal, August 02 2025: Manipur players returned home with a haul of 5 medals including one gold from the 12th Asian Junior Wushu Championships which was held from July 23 to 30 in Jiangyin, Wuxi City, China.

S Roshan fetched the only gold medal among the State players finishing atop in the boys' 52 kg category sanda competition as Konthoujam Devikarani settled for two medals, one apiece in Taijiquan and Taijijian competitions for Group C girls.

L Yaichenbi also won India a silver medal in the Group C girls' Nanquan event as M Ravichandra earned another silver medal in the boys' 56 kg category sanda competition.

Aheibam Ngamba, Laitonjam Linthoingambi, Hanjabam Reinold, Khumukcham Hulison, Th Jollyson, Th Wangthoi, L Chanuthoi, RK Lanchenbi and L Rahul were also part of the National team that also sanda coach L Pradipkumar and Taolu coach L Sanatombi Chanu.

The athletes were accorded a warm reception upon their return by family members and local wushu enthusiasts.
