TRAU FC, Kwakeithel edged past Zinc Football Academy, Udaipur (Rajasthan) by 2-1 goals for their first win in two matches of the I-League 3 Group B league competition this morning at SAI Turf Ground.
Having held to a 2-2 draw in the league opener, the Kwakeithel side rode on early goals from Yumnam Monis (9') and Thiyam Chingkheinganba (17') to beat Zinc Football Academy 2-1 today.
Abith K B (36') scored the lone goal for the Rajasthan outfit before TRAU FC ramped up their defence and held on to their lead till the final whistle.
In another Group B match staged in the afternoon, Clube De Salgaocar beat Mumbay Football Club 1-0 courtesy of Selwyn Frazier Miranda's stoppage time goal (90+5') .
FC Raengdai, KLASA stretch winning run In the Group A matches staged yesterday at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, FC Raengdai beat Sikkim Brotherhood Football Club by 2-1 goals for the second win on the trot and ARA FC edged past Sunrise Club Orissa by 3-2 goals.
In the first match of the day, FC Raengdai registered the 2-1 win thanks to goals coming from Laishram Bikramjit (45+3') and Tingkaochun Gangmei (68') .
Saddam Hossain Mondal netted the consolation goal for Sikkim Brotherhood Football Club in the 49th minute.
In the evening encounter, Timothi Narzary scored thrice (47', 60', 68'-P) to overcome Sunrise Club Orissa 3-2 .
Abhinand A had early drew level for Sunrise Club Orissa in the 58th minute before Timothy Narzari.
who opened the scoring in the 47th minute, completed his treble with two goals back to back in the 60th and the 68th minutes and earned ARA FC a 3-1 lead.
Sanjit Khoro scored the other goal for the Odisha team in the 81st minute but their comeback effort failed to yield result and eventually they went down 2-3 to Ahmedabad based ARA FC .
Elsewhere at Mulna Football Stadium, Balaghat (Madhya Pradesh), KLASA FC, Keinou extended their winning run in the Group C competition to two games by handing BLG- The Diamond Rock FC a 2-1 defeat.
BLG- The Diamond Rock FC, who are based in Balaghat, broke the deadlock in the 25th minute through Sujit Hansda before KLASA FC fought back and rode on goals from S Johny Kom (64') and Sharangthem Rajdan Singh (62') to seal the comeback 2-1 win.
