Yumnam Depika, Venus Tharoijam win gold at National Sub-Junior Taekwondo C'ship

Imphal, November 30 2024: Yumnam Depika and Tharoijam Venus grabbed gold medals as four other settled for bronze medals in the ongoing 38th National Sub-Junior Kyorugi & 13th National Sub-Junior Poomsae Taekwondo Championships 2024 at Tau Devi Lal Stadium, Panchkula, Haryana.

Yumnam Depika won the gold medal in girls' kyorugi competition for the under 35 kg category as Venus topped the boys' +50 kg category.

Asem Holina (-38 kg) and Linthoinganbi Lourembam (U-32 kg) meanwhile won bronze medals in the kyorugi competitions as Nelia Irungbam and Watham Chiwang won bronze medals in the girls' and boys' individual poomsae events.

Coaches Laishram Naoboy and Leimram Joypriya are leading the boys and girls' Kyorugi teams while coach Pushpatolly Mangshatabam is leading the poomsae teams and Nongthombam Singhajit is managing the State team.

The championships will conclude tomorrow.
