Man dies after tractor rolls over

Thoubal, June 28 2021: A man died in an accident after the tractor he was operating rolled over and crushed him at Leiba Wangbal farmland near Wangbal Canal on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as Ningthoujam Bijen (45), son of late N Joy Singh of Khangabok Meisnam Leikai.

The accident happened around 10 am, when Bijen was tilling the land with the tractor close to the bank of the canal and it suddenly turned turtle.

Farmers working at the same area managed to extricate him but Bijen passed away when being rushed to Thoubal district hospital.

On hearing about the mishap, some people who were attending meeting at the nearby Sorojini Oil Pump rushed in and helped in pulling out Bijen from under the overturned tractor but could not save him.
