Imphal, March 21 2025: Yumnam Surendra of Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai has been awarded an honorary Doctorate degree (Honoris Causa) by the Global Human Peace University, Chennai.

The Doctor of Music degree was conferred to Yumnam Surendra on March 9, 2025 for his thesis, "Exquisite Musical Notes of Manipur" .

Notably, Yumnam Surendra is an accomplished music director & composer.

He has given music direction at 76 TV serials (Hindi, Punjabi and Urdu) and 17 Manipuri feature films, documentaries and music videos.
