Imphal, March 13:
A multimedia art exhibition organised by the Arts Society Manipur was opened today at the Manipur State Museum.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition which would continue till March 17 was graced by Padmasree Ratan Thiyam as chief guest and chairman of Arts Society Manipur L Shamu as functional president.
The exhibition features sculptures, poetry, photos and paintings of different artists.
Addressing the opening function, Ratan Thiyam hailed the skills of State artists and poets.
He remarked that all the 35 pieces of paintings, 13 sculptor pieces and the poems being exhibited reflect the existing situation of the State.
Even though politicians of the State often speak volumes about the rich art and culture of Manipur and achievements in sports, successive Governmentes have failed utterly in promoting arts in Manipur or provide incentives to talented artists, lamented the renowned theatre director.
The art items being exhibited were painted/wrote during the workshop organised by the Art Society Manipur from March 8 to 12.
