Bird traps seized at Waithou

Kakching, January 07 2023: A joint team of Joint Co-ordination Committee on Wildlife & Biodiversity (JCCWB) and ASI S Kumar Meitei CDO-unit Thoubal Golfe-38 recovered bird trap nets set for the last three days at Waithou pat during a drive carried out to save wild birds and animals.

However, on seeing the team, the poachers fled though the equipment used by them to trap birds were recovered by the team.

JCCWB convenor Romesh Ningthoujam appealed to all the people to extend their support in the drive to save the birds and the environment and said that the committee will initiate legal actions against any person found indulging in trapping of birds in the area.
