Eleven persons who were earlier addicted to heroin have been given new life with OST (opioid substitution therapy) at Moreh town of Chandel district.
They were presented with gifts at a simple function at the OST office, Moreh on Wednesday.
The OST centre at the Primary Health Centre, Moreh was set up by Manipur Aids Control Society (MACS) on February 26, 2015 with the primary objective to save the life of drug abusers at Moreh, bordering Myanmar.
In all, 46 drug addicts are currently undergoing OST at the centre.
Within a short span of time, the centre has successfully brought new life to the 11 drug addicts by using the therapy.
