Patriots' Day observed in Pune

Imphal, August 18 2025: The Association of Manipuri Diaspora (AMAND), Pune observed the 134th Patriots' Day at the MCCIA in Hadapsarda, Pune, on Sunday.

The programme was attended by members of the Manipuri diaspora residing in and around Pune.

AMAND president Chongtham Jayanta led the gathering in paying floral tributes to the portraits of Bir Tikendrajit, Thangal General, Pukhrambam Kajao, Chirai Thangal and Niranjan Chhetri, who laid down their lives for the motherland.

Delivering the keynote address, Jayanta underscored the significance of Patriots' Day and stressed the need to preserve and promote the rich art and culture of Manipur.
