Imphal, May 06: An expectant mother and her child died due to complication in delivery of the baby at the Nujarem Nursing Home in Churachandpur district in the early hours of today.

After families of the deceased woman refused to claim her corpse, both the mother and her baby had been kept at RIMS mortuary for he post mortem.

According to police sources, the woman is said to be one Tongbram (o) Premi (35) w/o Ibochouba of Keirenphabi Mamang Leikai in Bishnupur district.

The child died seconds after the delivery (2 am) while the mother succumbed nearly seven hours later.
