Ukhrul, June 30:
Leishi Youth Club and Elders (LYCE) of Shangshak village under Ukhrul District has expressed gratitude and appreciation to the 23rd Assam Rifles for organising free medical camp for Shangshak villagers.
Talking to this correspondent a representative of the LYCE stated that though there is an PHC to look after the patients, till date no such privilege were ever got by the poor villagers.
However, he added that the 23 Assam Rifles is true to their motto, "Assam Rifles the friends of the Hill People".
The unit took the initiative by conducting free eye camp and providing Hepatitis B vaccine for the 3rd round to the villagers where over 600 peoples has been benefited.
The representative further particularly expressed gratitude to Commandant Col S S Bhogal and RMO of 23rd Assam 'Rifles, Captain VG Nair for taking initiative of organising the camp.
