Imphal, November 25 2024: In connection with the observance of International Day for The Elimination of Violence Against Women & Girls, the Women Action for Development (WAD) organised a candlelight vigil in front of Hapta Kangjeibung today.

The candlelight vigil was held as part of WAD's 16 days of activism against gender based violence.

Notably, the International Day for The Elimination of Violence Against Women & Girls is celebrated annually on November 25 to create awareness about the violence against women and girls.

The day draws attention to the alarming rise in women's deaths from violence perpetrated against them.
