Imphal, September 15:
Langkhongching Village Authority has demanded the State Government to take action against the Commander of 18th Bn Assam Rifles posted at Lokchao for his alleged unlawful activities in beating up an innocent villager.
In a statement, chairman of the village authority informed that K Angrung was picked up by the Assam Rifles personnel on Sep 9 without furnishing any reason and subjected him to severe torture after taking to their post.
The victim is under undergoing treatment, the chairman said, while demanding action against the post commander.
