MSCW probes Matouleibi death case

Imphal, March 11 2025:
Manipur State Commission for Women (MSCW) informed that a three-member fact finding committee led by its chairperson has been formed to probe the controversial death of one Chingtham (Ningol) Thokchom (Ongbi) Matouleibi.
A release issued by MSCW chairperson Thumlip Tiningpham Monsang said that the committee on Monday visited the pond at Malom Makha Leikai where Matouleibi was found dead.
The committee separately met Matouleibi's parental and in-law families.
Moreover, the committee also instructed Bishnupur SP to provide status report regarding the death of the woman, she added.
