MSA calls 48-hour general strike

Imphal, July 01 2026: The Minorities Students' Association (MSA), Manipur, has announced a 48-hour general strike across Manipur Pangal inhabited areas from midnight of July 2, citing Government inaction on its demands.

In a press release, MSA said it had earlier urged the Government to reconstitute the WAQF Board, Manipur, within five days and implement demands listed in its memorandum.

Despite repeated appeals, no action has been taken, reflecting continued neglect of Meitei Pangal minorities, it alleged.

MSA appealed to the Ullama Council, CSOs, students' bodies, local clubs, and all Manipuri Pangal people to support the agitation.
