Churachandpur, August 28 2026:
The Assam Rifles has restored a critical road connectivity near Tuibong in Churachandpur district.
A mudslide triggered by rains had severely damaged the embankment of a vital road bridge and washed away approximately 6 metres of the road.
Mobilising swiftly under Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations, a team of 10 personnel from Assam Rifles undertook extensive restoration work from August 22 to 27 .
Working in close coordination with local village volunteers and without engaging outside contractors, the team stabilised and reconstructed the embankment and the road, said the AR .
