Imphal, November 26 2014: As observed in other parts of the globe, the 9th world anti-obesity day was held today at GM Hall under the aegis of Everlife International Pvt Ltd, India, Manipur unit.

Khurai AC MLA Dr Ng Bijoy, senior member of EI Nandakumar Lourembam, AMWJU president Wangkhemcha Shamjai and joint secretary (technical adviser) Wushu Association, India M Birmani Singh attended the programme as the chief guest, president and guests of honour respectively.

Speakers of the function stressed the need to maintain healthy living by taking regular exercise and vegetarian diet in order to prevent obesity and related diseases.

The experts and other speakers also maintained that obesity or overweight could be prevented by regular exercise and following strict diet regime.
