Sugnu Municipal Council ceases activities

Kakching, December 21 2024: KAKCHING: Sugnu Municipal Council (SMC) has suspended its operations in response to monetary demands.

The councillors of SMC convened a meeting on Friday at the council's office, chaired by chairperson M Sarat.

During the meeting, the councillors raised strong objections to unaffordable monetary demands placed on them.

After thorough deliberation, the councillors unanimously resolved to cease all activities with immediate effect and close office of the municipal council until an amicable resolution is adopted to address the issue.
